One thing I love about living where I do is the ability to hop on my bike and within 10 minutes of easy riding be immersed in a totally rural landscape, with working farms, rolling hills, stately country homes, and blissfully quiet roads, both paved and gravel.
Yesterday morning I decided to head out to the eastern fringes of Ottawa’s territorial boundary at Canaan Road. A little headwind on the way out translated into a nice tailwind on the way home. Perfect.

I always take my “proper” camera with me when I go for these kinds of rides, especially if the weather and the light are cooperative.
