Today I learned from my doctor that I can stop taking my daily prophylactic doses of antibiotics (Septra, aka sulfameth/trimethoprim) and antivirals (acyclovir).
These were prescribed to me back in April when I was starting my chemotherapy treatments and the initial prescriptions were for a full year. It’s now been over three months since my chemotherapy has completed and given that I’ve had no infections or complications (knock on wood) my doctor feels now is as good a time as any to stop taking these horse pills. Let’s just say I didn’t protest.

Now I can say that I’m no longer on any meds related to my lymphoma. Next time I go to the pharmacy, it will be to have these leftover tablets safely disposed of. Freedom!
