294/365 : There’s something fishy going on
Nothing sinister; just dinner.
Didn’t get out to shoot today, so I had to made do with what was cooking. Tonight’s delight: spicy beef kebabs on the grill.
It takes a lot of concentration to be able to fill up those little paper cupcake cups without spilling over. That’s why I let Vic do it – he’s a lot better at it than I am.
Didn’t really get out today and as I was preparing supper, I realised I hadn’t made my photo of the day. So here you go – four burger patties ready for the grill and some sliced tomatoes. With luck tomorrow will be a more creative day.
Day 4… I had two striploin steaks left uncooked from our New Year’s dinner that were just begging to be cooked; getting near their best-by date, and were past the point when I would feel comfortable freezing them. Normally steak isn’t a Monday night meal, but duty calls… so into the sous-vide they went for …
Over the past three months, all this confinement has led to lots of baking. Baking means cookies (in this house, anyhow). We’re all trying hard to make sure that COVID-19 isn’t like the “freshman 15.”
Despite not having any Italian DNA, I think I must be Italian, deep down. If I was condemned to choose to eat one country’s cuisine for all eternity, it would be Italy’s.
